Virka for practitioners
Frequently asked questions
Last updated: 24 October 2026
What is Virka for practitioners?
A place to invite your patients, receive the intake questionnaire they fill in through Virka, see what they choose to share with you, prepare for a consultation with a synthesis draft, and book the consultation in your calendar.
Who can use it?
Practitioners we have approved. If you do not have access yet, ask for it from the sign-in page. We let people in one by one during early access.
Does it cost anything?
No. It is free during early access. If that changes we will tell you in advance, and nothing is charged unless you agree.
How does a patient share information with me?
You send them an invitation, by email from the portal or as a link. They sign in to Virka, fill in your questionnaire, and agree to share it with you. They can also choose to share their lab results, their supplements and medications list, summarised sleep, activity and body composition data, and their active habits and programs, with journal yes/no answers shared as day counts. Each of those is a separate choice. Anything they share may be used in the AI-drafted summaries you review.
Can a patient stop sharing?
Yes, at any time, from their Virka app. You then lose access to everything they shared, straight away, and the copy of their lab results made for you is deleted.
Can I download my patients' intake forms?
Yes. On your Account page, Download intake forms opens one printable document with the intake form of every patient who currently shares it with you. Your browser's print dialog can save it as a PDF. A patient who has stopped sharing is not in it, and it holds only the intake form: not their lab results or the other information they may share. Once downloaded, the file is yours to keep safe.
What is a synthesis draft?
A draft reading of a patient's intake, prepared with the help of an AI model when you ask for it. It gives you prompts in three groups: worth exploring, to confirm or rule out, and to flag and check. Every line cites the answers, scores or lab values it comes from, so you can check it.
It is not a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation or a finding, and it can be wrong. Automatic checks remove lines that cite nothing or quote numbers the patient did not give. Your judgement decides what, if anything, to take from it.
Why can I not prepare a draft for some patients?
A draft is prepared only while your practice has AI tools turned on in Settings (its Owner or an Admin decides), and only from what the patient has agreed to share with you. The patient consents to the sharing; the tools are your practice's choice.
Which AI is used, and does it learn from my patients?
Drafts are prepared with AI models from third-party providers, listed in our privacy policy for practitioners. They receive the patient information a draft needs, and do not use data sent through their commercial APIs to train their models.
Does the patient see the draft?
No. Drafts are private to you. Marking a draft as reviewed is a private note for you, and nothing is sent to the patient. If you copy a draft out of Virka, what you do with it is your responsibility.
What does preparing a draft again do?
It replaces the current draft with a new one, which starts out unreviewed.
What does Virka do with my calendar?
With Google Calendar, Virka reads your events to show your day in the portal, and creates an event only when you book a consultation, inviting the patient. With Microsoft Outlook, Virka only reads your events. Virka never accepts, declines, moves or deletes anything, and does not store your events. You can disconnect in Settings.
What is Help improve Virka?
An optional setting, off unless you turn it on. When it is on, we record metadata about your synthesis drafts, such as how long they took, how many lines our checks removed, and whether you reviewed, copied or downloaded them, so we can make drafts better. We never record the text of a draft or which patient it was for, and records are deleted after 90 days.
Turning it off deletes everything recorded. Delete my captured data deletes it without turning the setting off. The full list is in the Privacy Policy.
Who is responsible for my patients' data?
For what Virka does with patient information in the practitioner space on your behalf, you are the controller and Virka is your processor. The Data Processing Agreement is Part B of the Terms for Practitioners. Each patient's own Virka account is Virka's responsibility, under the privacy policy they agreed to.
Is Virka a medical device?
No. Virka, and every synthesis draft, supports your preparation. It does not diagnose, treat or replace your professional judgement.
How do I get a copy of my data, or delete my account?
To delete your account, use Delete account at the bottom of your Account page, which sends us the request from your signed-in account. For a copy of your data, or if you prefer, email vlad@virka.ai from the address you sign in with. We answer within one month. You can disconnect a calendar and turn off Help improve Virka yourself, in Settings.
Why are these pages in English?
The legal pages are written in English, which is the version that governs. The rest of the practitioner space is in Bulgarian, apart from Account and Settings.
